Hey.....They came, and I finally got around to taking some pictures. The 1845 quarter shown here, I believe is very close to uncirculated. There's one odd thing that throws the grading curve a little. Liberty's forearm appears to be worn, as do the top edges of the eagle's wings....but....those areas are dead flat, as though the planchet was slightly thinner, or the pressure was such that the coin was not fully struck.

There are just 4 examples of the 1845 on ebay right now....and this coin is in better condition (technical grade) than any of those. I'd venture to say that all 4 that are on there now, have been altered by cleaning of some type at some point. The surfaces of this coin appear to be completely original.

That's my "take"...but I'm interested in your observations.

I added the 3rd picture that shows the color and surface pretty well.

I dont have a lot of experience grading this series but I am going to go ef-45 maybe au-50. It also appears shows wear on the bust, thigh, hair, and hand
Rest in Peace

AU-53, looks at least mostly original. Nice strike as well.

Liberty's hand, thigh, left breast and to a lesser extent her head, don't exhibit wear, but rather areas of flatness related to the weak strike. The star centers are 100 percent....and that's not a hallmark of a coin that's 10 points below MS. I think this one is technically in the same state of preservation as the other coin, but a weakly struck example.

With little luster remaining and noticeable friction, I'd venture AU55 is the highest it would grade.

I agree with ShadowCreator's AU53 grade.
