Anyone care to assign a grade to this 1912 50 Centavos?
Also check out the date is it my imagination or does it look like a re-punched date?

Thanks for your help.

I want to say XF, such great details and luster, but it's been so banged up I think that knocks it back down a bit, either to a mixed grade or a "choice VF+"... Any other opinions out there?

Obviously this coin has seen some circulation, but I'd be willing to go XF-40

With the amouth of luster showing I'm thinking it may be a weak strike. Though there does also appear to be circulation wear. So I'm going to grade it based on the wear I see. VF-30. I can't really tell if the date has been repunched, but the second 1 looks different than the first.

I would certainly say that this guy is an EF. The obverse even looks as though it may be a wee bit better than that in fact.

I was not happy with the first pictures as there was way too much light. I tried again with a faster shutter speed and this I think is better.

Hi Nohope

This is a nice example of this date, if you want to take a look in my gallery, I have a pic of the same date in a known uncirculated, the pics are a little small ( I still need to retake them)

but the details are fairly visable.

your coin in my opinion grades EF-45 based on a couple of things, the wing tips, the beak and the ribbon on the reverse, the leaves and outline of the 50 and the cap and upper ray ends all of these elements show some wear.
