I have a coin that my grandma gave to me, I am interested to know the background behind it and what era it was from.

It's a copy of an ancient Greek coin; we see them every once in a while on the forum. They were mailed out as a promotional giveaway for a Reader's Digest book on ancient Greece.

See here for the most recent thread on this "coin".

You're in Australia? All the others I've seen here on the forum have been from America; I wasn't aware they reached this far. The only one I've ever seen here was sent to me as a gag gift by a CU forum member.

Thanks Sap

My grandma is a big fan of Readers Digest so that would explain it.

Just wasn't sure because this doesn't have a 'copy' pressed into it.

Cheers
