I am new and would like your expert opinion.

With the apparent damage to the obverse and reverse of this coin,
(scratching through and around " Half Cent"on the reverse).

What would you grade it at and what would you value it at?

Welcome to the forum!

I'm not at all expert on these coins. Please wait for others to respond.

The obverse "grooves" are very interesting. Maybe not post mint damage? Let's wait to hear from the experts.

A pretty coin!

to the community,

The damage on the obverse looks like it might have happened at the time it was minted. The reverse damage is post mint. Detail looks to be EF-40.
