If you go to the Easter show or a number of other shows there are often opportunities to strike you own coin on one of the mobile presses.

Sometimes there is even a special PNC or carded coin available.

This year at the FUN (Florida United Numismatists) Show they had a special coin from the Perth Mint

New-Carded-Coin-Easier-To-Get-In-US-Than-Oz

This special FUN Coin Show Set from the Perth Mint Australia made its worldwide debut at the Fun Show in Orlando Florida. The set is comprised of the 2009 and 2010 1oz Australian Koala struck from 99.9% pure silver in bullion quality. Each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act of 1965.

Traditionally released individually, each 1oz Australian Koala is struck on a 'mint-to-order' basis only for a period of 12 months. This unique FUN 2010 two-coin-set has a total mintage of just 1,500.

What is this world coming to?

Yes I have card # 1313

They are selling for US$45.00 a bit steep but fun to have!

Beware Perth Mint's claims of "exclusivity". They issued the Meszaros pattern 20¢ coin "exclusively" for the Gold Coast ANDA Show. When they didn't sell all 2500 there, they simply brought the remainders back home to Perth and slapped them on their general sales website.

Perth Mint sells a fair amount of Koalas and Kookaburras to us Yanks,
so it's no surprise that they made a special card for FUN 2010.

I can buy the 2009 and 2010 Koalas in that card in person from several
local dealers in Denver, Colorado, USA. (never mind online from dozens
of U.S. sellers, and of course from the Perth Mint itself!)

At least for that ANDA Gold Coast 20¢ Decimal Pattern, the coin is
available only in that card.

Not a bad looking set and a nice souvenir from the show. Anyone else make something special for the show?

How much do the coins normally go for on their own?

Over here they go for £17.32 each (abount $27.75 USD).

Here in Australia they are $38 ($34 US). Sad that we pay so much for a bullion coin that the rest of the world gets so cheaply in comparison.

They are sold as bullion coins, they tend to go for
"spot silver price + US $10" around here...

(past years of both are commonly seen as well)
