Thanks Sap. What a wonderful synopsis of what those coins are. I had never even heard of "French Polynesia" before a few days ago. Being the typical undereducated and "culturally illiterate" American (:D), I always though Tahiti was either its own soverign nation, or assumed it belonged to some South American Country (which it technically does). For some odd reason, when I hear "polynesia", I always think of far south-east asia, which I need to stop doing.
When my brother told me French was the spoken language there, I was a bit taken aback. So, I checked out good old trusty Wikipedia, and learned a bit about the area and its history.
The coins look and feel really cheap, and well, they are. Nonetheless, they're still coins, and I'll take good care of them.
