Would like to know if the base metal one dollar coin is available without the stamps? Can they be bought from the bank? I was born in the year of the tiger and I am thinking of buying one. Thank you.

Are you only looking for the base metal ones cause I have a few of the silver ones?

I will not skip this post because I collect lunar coins from Australia (and Canada and China).

In addition to the one mentioned by Iatman100, the Perth Mint also produces several tiger lunar coins. See at the website http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalog...r-coins.aspx

I think he means the PNC issue, without the PNC

Pretty sure you have to tear the PNC up. It will be a non circulation issue.

The one I'm really interested in is the one in the PNC but I only want the coin not the stamps. The one latman100 posted is o.k. but not my first choice, thanks for the link latman. Is Australia minting a circulation dollar coin with a tiger on it, if so what does it look like? On another note, I saw a one kilo silver on AAN tv yesterday that was slabbed by NGC at MS69 for $800.00 I think, it looked way cool. The slab was huge! Of course it has to be because the coin is huge. Thanks for all the info guys.

All the lunar series are NCLT (NIFC), so there won't be a circulating tiger. And I have to agree the Perth Mint coin looks much better than the RAM one.
