I stopped by the coin shop and poked through the bargain basket, I'm chatting away with the owner and he starts chnging some items around in his cases. had some really nice items to put out. After a few minutes, he says "hang on I want to show you this coin" he said "I've been doing this 50 years and never had or held one of these until today So I wanted you to" 1893s Morgan. He is sending it off Were thinking it will come back either g-8 or vf not sure which. said hes keeping it . Not for sale. I like having the opportunity to see and hold these things I can't afford.
I remeber I went to a high end baseball auction. They had Babe ruth and Lou Gherig items. Signed balls game used bats and gloves (all signed and authenticated). I went just to see and hold them and took a picture. pretty cool stuff.

I got to hold one once too. It probably would grade XF or so, really pretty! I tried to convince my dad that it would make a great birthday present, but he wasn't biting!

This is why you need to get to know the people at your coin shop- they'll let you play with the good stuff! In recent visits I've gotten to hold the previously mentioned 1893-S, a 1895 Proof, an extra high relief St. Gaudens, and a high relief Peace dollar. They just have to watch to make sure I don't get drool on anything!

Rest in Peace

1893S Morgan? Oh yeah, I gave a couple away a few years ago - I collect only CCs.

While I'm on the subject, whoever contacted me on that bridge I have for sale - please call again. I've decided to lower the price just for you.

I have held two, purchased one of them, and then did the dumbest thing in my life! Yes, I sold my 93S (tears here) and have been crying ever since. Don't have a clue when I will get the opportunity to have one again but at least I can say I had one! (Sold my 89CC also) More tears here!
