I'm looking to get a binder to store all my coins any good brands out there that you guys know of? I'm not making any sets now just a bunch of different coins.
Something not too expensive and durable!
Sorry if there was a post on this already
Thanks!

Are you referring to a three ring regular note paper binder? If so have you tried garage sales, that's where I used to get mine from for about 25 cents each. Just an idea. John1

Just a few questions for you!
Can I assume that you are putting your coins in 2x2's? Are you looking for binders that hold the vinyl pages for 2x2's? Do you already have the vinyl pages or are you looking for a package (a binder with pages)? Would you prefer to buy locally or online?

The first step would be to get them in some 2x2's ( Cardboard coin flips). You can then put them into pages ( Supersafe Archival Pages). You can put your pages into binders. You can probably find inexpensive, yet adequate ones at any local department store, or you can look at some of the fancier ones here. The links I have provided are to show you what I am talking about; although I do recommend Wizard Coin Supply. I am sure other members will help you shop around!

Also, for ideas you may want to check out the Whitman Web site. I suggest for now not buying anything until you know what you really want though and especially direct from such companies. Nice place to do some window shopping though. For now you should probably just put your coins in 2x2's. Since you do not have a lot of coins yet, just place the 2x2's in a box for now. Eventually you may want an Album for your coins. Not a folder, an album. Big difference. Take your time and shop around. If there is a coin store in your area or a coin show, go there and again, look to see what is available. Also, check out used book stores, flea markets and garage/yard sales.

My only additional suggestion would be to make sure you get a "D-Ring" binder. You can tell the difference between these and standard binders because the metal rings are bound to the back--not the middle--section of the binder. That way, you are not constantly stretching the holes of the pages each time you open and close the binder. I've bought a variety of these at thrift stores for $0.25 or less, each. The only downside is I have to put up with whatever pre-printed covers they come with. Wikipedia pic: -wheatiefan

Youngfee101. hobby lobby sells the 2x2 coin holders and plastic pages that hold the 2x2 that go in a 3 ring binder. just like baseball card plastic sheet but they are for 2x2s. if you go to the hobby lobby website you can print off a 40% off coupon. you can usuall get 24 2x2s for less then $3 with the coupon sometimes even less depends on where you live. if they dont have a hobby lobby in your state then ignore everything you just read. good luck

I've been there with those pages that are difficult to turn in a standard 3 ringed binder. There is a solution you know. Purchase a 3 hole punch for three hole binder pages. Simply repunch all the holes in a slot shape. By that I mean place a page in the 3 hole punch thing and move it a little to the left or right to elongate the holes. They will now turn much easier and no get snagged. I do it all the time and wish someone would come out with an elongated 3 hole punch. As to where to purchase 2x2's, I am not sure about the name but over the years I've heard that some place called Krueger or something like that is the best and cheapest. Sure hope someone posts the real or accurate name of that place.

Youngfee101: Others have suggested that you buy some 2x2 inch flips. I use mostly 1.5x1.5 inch flips that way I can get more coins in each page. For U.S. coins, I find that they work great except for large dollar coins - and I use the 2x2 inch flips for those.
For binders, almost any will do just as long as you don't "overstuff" them with pages. However, IMO for a nicer presentation, FedEX Kinkos carries a handsome 1.5" 3-ring leatherette binder with a clasp that looks great. As I found these binders to be difficult to obtain, I keep their SKU info handy: - ProBinder Hawthorne Black, Catalog# 71004, SKU 8580871004, $16.95

Also, those are a bit cheaper and if you go to any coin show you would notice that almost every dealer now uses those smaller sized ones. Not sure where they get the trays for them, but hold a real lot more coins with those smaller sized flips.

Youngfee101: I've found that finding 1.5 x 1.5 flips are more challenging to attain in bulk packs at a reasonable prices. This dealer has been thus far a go-to source for me: http://www.mcqueeneycoins.com/catal...th=22_61_76. Album holders can be found at: http://www.mcqueeneycoins.com/catal...th=22_62_78. (Please don't perceive these links as any kind of endorsement.) I've tried finding a link for the binders I mentioned previously numerous times, but never could find one. I've been going directly to my local FedEX Kinkos store regularly to buy them...
