Yes, unfortunatley there is quite a bit of spotting on all the ones I have seen.

They also have a sort of clunky feel to them. The fields are large in relation to the coin and the thud Zinc makes when dropped just gives the coins an odd feel to them.

I think BU they are ugly, this is a coin that I think toning will definatley do wonders for. The strike just doesn't look sharp for such a design..

I agree bherring1964. I bought my mint rolls of the 2009's directly from the mint for 8.95 + s&h. Far less than what is being offered for bwr.

I'm a patient man...

Go ahead and buy a few rolls for $50/each if you want to. I'll wait a month and pick up a 10 rolls for $5 total in Springfield on Feb 11th

Sounds silly to freeze standing in line for hours for a couple of rolls that you say will sell for face in a couple of months.

Some coins do go to the Federal Reserve before their release date.

I got two William Henry Harrison-D Dollars in my Denver Light Rail
change on Sunday, Feb. 15th, 2009, and their release date was Thursday
Feb. 19, 2009! (yes, I saved those two in a flip)

The Denver Mint doesn't distribute coins in the Gift Shop before their
release date. I got my first BU Harrison-D Dollars from there on Friday,
Feb. 20th, 2009.

Just FYI: This was my auction.

(Not quite $50... And I had the roll in hand in 3 days.)

No one is going to be standing in ice cold weather in Springfield(it was actually very nice there last year on Lincoln's bicentennial birthday, mid 40s) because this is going to be an indoor event.

Took the chance that Edgar was on the up and up for one roll. Here is what I received in the mail 4 days later. And I Immediately ordered one more roll to not crack open and I received it 4 days after I ordered it.
Very happy to get a couple of rolls from the first set of dies that are going to be the regular design for the Cent for the foreseeable future.

The State Quarters and the President dollars could be ordered by banks two weeks before the release dates so they could have them on hand on issuing day. Other coins can not be ordered early so even if the Fed has them they are not allowed to ship them to the banks early.
