It's an "unofficial medallic coin", commemorating the coronation of Emperor Heile Selassie. Dated EE 1923 (= AD 1930). A gold coin of this design, denominated at 1/2 talari, is listed in the Krause "Unusual" book, KMX# M19. This one doesn't appear to be gold.

At this point I can only date it. It says EE 1923 which translates to AD 1931. There's nothing like this in Krause, I wonder if it's a medal rather than a coin. I will track down a person from Ethiopia I know and figure out exactly what this is (unless someone'll get it before).
