Nice notes posted! Today's note is the last of the type set I needed. Its 20 Centavos P100, while not the rarest of the Portuguese Fractional, its the one I had the hardest time finding in CU. I really like this one. Nice color and paper.

Today you get pick 166(1) which features the signatures of Rafael da Silva Neves Duque & Fernando Emygdio da Silva. The note has D. Filipa de Lancastre (born March 31, 1360 - July 19, 1415) was Queen of Portugal from 1387 until 1415 by marriage to King John I. Born into the royal family of England, her marriage secured the Treaty of Windsor and produced several children who became known as the "Illustrious Generation" in Portugal. Her surviving children went on to make historically significant contributions in their own right. Edward became the eleventh King of Portugal, and was known as, "The Philosopher," or the "Eloquent." Henry the Navigator sponsored expeditions to Africa. This was a note I really wanted. Its large and at the time issued, very valuable. In 1961 the GDP per Capita of Portugal was $383 USD. The exchange rate was 28$75 escudos per dollar. So GPD was 11,011$25 escudos. This note was 1/11 of the GDP. That would be like a $5000 USD note in 2014 (GDP per Capita was $55,049 in the US)

That is a beautiful 1000 Escudos hfjacinto. You must be happy to have it. Here's P-102b a 5000 Lira featuring "Cristoforo Colombo" & his first voyage on the back:
