9 Millennium notes from an auction arrived today and there was a pleasant surprise. Found one rare high value RED Serial (only 500,000 issued). RED SERIAL NZ 00810409 The lower one shown has a nice number 00033222

Those North Korean notes are pretty neat. Would have thought they would have had the "supreme leader" on them. 2008, probably would have been his dad's reign.

NumisRob, while I kept a lot of pre-Euro coinage during my years living in Europe (1998-2005), I regret I didn't hang on to more of the notes. That's a great 200 franc note!

Here's a thrift store pick up - Cambodia - 500 Riel. Its a very large note - 179 × 96 mm Obverse Multicolor. Farmer plowing with two water buffalo. Reverse Pagoda at right, doorway of Preah Vihear at left.

We have many charity/thrift stores like Salvation Army, Hospice, church, etc. I'm not finding so much recently, but I have had some quite unusual notes come along in the past. There are also some markets that occasionally have coins and notes.

Another thrift store pick up from Cambodia 100 Riels - 1956-1974 Obverse Brown and green on multicolor underprint. Statue of Lokecvara at left. Reverse Long boat.
