First Portuguese note in a while. I had saved up to get a P-156 1000 Escudos, there was a really nice AU 58 on ebay. After the note being listed for over 6 months, the seller dropped the price last Sunday, I only saw it Monday morning but it was sold, so this is a consolation prize. Its not AU but like most of the recent additions its rare. This is P-143 with the signatures of Įlvaro Pedro de Sousa and Joćo Emaśz Leite Ribeiro (another note that doesn't exist in the catalog :) ) The signature Combo should only have existed for the May 13, 1938 issue. Note has some folds, but the color is vibrant and it has crisp feel, price was also good.   |

I found this Bank of China 1935 1 Yuan recently. I nearly didn't bother as I already have a couple, but the annotations made me look closer and then I noticed that the vertical writing on the left was a signature. It took a second before I realised it was the autograph signature of the General Manager of the Bank of China (1935-1949) Song Hanzhang (1872-1968) which is also printed on the front.   |

Awesome discovery xavier27. I'm sure autographed notes from China are quite uncommon (possibly unique)!

Thank you both for the comments. I remember seeing one other example of a note autographed by a bank official in this way years ago, in an auction. A Central Bank of China note of 1936, one of the Waterlow printed ones. I think it was of Huang Xiufeng:  It was a long while ago. Interesting and sometimes mysterious things do turn up on notes. I always keep an eye out. |

While I don't actively collect world currency, I do pick up examples every now and then. Here's one I purchased recently on ebay which arrived today; a 20 hryvnia note from Ukraine. I ordered this one in an envelope, and another from a different seller in a descriptive folder. Both sellers are in Kyiv, so I was surprised this first one showed up in only 2 weeks. The other should be here next week. The first pic is the envelopes, the 2nd is the note itself.   Member of SPMC, FCCB, ANA and ANS. Wow! Such a powerful design on that commemorative note earmarking such a sad event. Seeing it, makes me want to pick up one. Thanks for sharing @hokiefan_82!
