I recently bought two Dutch notes, but in hindsight I am not happy about them. As I mentioned in another thread, although the photos on the auction website showed the notes as vibrant in reality they are not.

@NumisRob
Those Mexican 20 pesos notes (Benito Juárez) are still around?

Great group of notes @hokiefan_82 (I especially like the large, old German notes)

Quote: While I don't actually collect world notes, I have a few from countries I've worked, traveled or lived in. Occasionally I add to that little stash, and I just got a nice group of notes from a fellow member of a paper money forum (and he's also a member here). Excellent!

Quote: I have a few from countries I've worked, traveled or lived in. Occasionally I add to that little stash, On my first visit to Europe in 2004, my host (& past university flatmate) pulled out an envelope stuffed with ratty, circulated notes from countries he had visited. It was an impressive thick stash stuffed in a manilla envelope. However, if I asked him about any particular note (who the figure portrayed on the front was/scenery on back, etc) he drew a blank. So that's when I figured I would put together my own Globe-Trotter set but also try to know what I was getting (& in UNC). So here's a later 1993 1000 Korun from Czech Republic with stamp printed on it (P-3c). I like this note because it comes from their early days as they became a free democratic country & portrays BED#344;ICH SMETANA (1824-1884) a famous composer (who worked/lived in Prague). The scenery on the back is also nice a dramatic & I really fell in love with the town square, Charles Bridge, etc of Prague, CR (on a visit 10 years later):

Nice note, walk2dwater! Prague was one of our favorite trips; in fact, the wallpaper on my computer screen is a view of the Charles Bridge I took from around Prague Castle back in August of 2003.
