Very cool. I've seen other fantasy notes (probably also the ones you have too) on ebay but haven't pulled the trigger. Polymers are fun to collect, aren't they?!

There are some great notes on this page.

@Dave L - if I wanted to go out and get one of those giant notes you have a few posts above (the 5000 "something" note), what would I look for? The hammer and sickle leads me to believe it's Russian or possibly from the USSR. However, the French and other languages on the back in addition to the Cyrillic on the front have me scratching my head.

I could Google this, I know. Would prefer to hear it first hand from someone who has it... in hand.

@owatchman,

Those are so cool. I have the £5 Polymer and love it. Still trying to find a decent deal on the £10.

@CelticKnot
I got it on it on banknoteworld.com. It wasn't too bad. Bit of a splurge, but it looked so cool I couldn't resist.

If you're interested in that particular note, it is indeed Russian. It is one of a series of notes that are, due to the phrase in multiple languages, called Babylonian Notes. It was an early attempt at broadcasting socialist communism to the masses. You can read a little more at my site here: http://banknoteden.com/TMFOM/Russia.html
That note, in that grade, XF/AU, took me a couple years to find. There is an even larger one that I still have to find someday... but it has to be a decent grade and price. I have the lower denominations already; their size is relative to the denomination.

If you're looking for just large notes, simply do a search in ebay or your preferred site for Large banknotes or Huge Banknotes, and you will get a few hits right off . Do be advised that not all larger notes are advertised that way, though. While there are some great notes out there that are expensive, there are still some that are quite affordable. Egypt 10 Pounds 1964, Russia 500 Rubles 1912 (my largest note), and Germany in 1910 had some big notes in 100 and 1000 Marks. Do shop around, as the prices should all be less than $30 in UNC.

Those Yugoslavia hyperinflation notes are fun to collect, and a whole lot cheaper than (some of) the Zimbabwe ones. I have almost a complete collection minus some varieties.
