There may be some Machine Doubling there but I'm not convinced that that is all there is. There is doubling on the lips that seems to have significant separation and it does not appear to be flat between the images. It looks like the relief is rounded. It is just hard to tell from the images

Yeah John, that chin just sticks right out there, doesn't it?
Good call Conder. I was thinking the 'exact' same thing.
Al, is there a way to throw some different lighting on a few close ups of the nose, lips and neck?

here is another try at pictures... Machine Doubling is always attributed by it's shelf-like flat ledge, doubling is better seen on this coin on the neck and lips which are half way up the profile, I might note that there are 30 something listings at Coneca for DDO's, I'm simply trying to figure out if its worth sending in for attribution for a positive lock on which one there is....thanks

I don't know about values and the worth of submission, but personally, I like a lot of Strike Doubling better than the subtleness of most die doubling.

There are three or four well known doubled die varieties on SMS coins dated 1966. Look for doubling on the designers initials as well as IN GOD WE TRUST. If the doubling is there, you have one of them.
They are relatively common and go for between 15 and 35 bucks depending upon which one it is. It's not worth it to slab it in my humble opinion.
You can also find circulation quality 1966 Kennedys with the same doubling.
Thanks, Bill

I should have mentioned that the coin is definitely a doubled die. My answer wasn't complete as there are Doubled dies known on these where the doubling is seen only on the profile.
There are also circulation quality coins that exhibit doubling on the profile and very little else.
