Mila cent,
There were aluminum cents made in 1974 and again in 1975. The U.S. Mint was concerned about the price of copper and were looking to make the coin in a cheaper metal. After minting a few hundred coins, a few dozen were passed out to the important congressmen and senators. After congress decided not to use aluminum, the Mint officially asked for these coins to be returned. Of course, a few never made it back. According to the U.S. Mint, about a dozen examples are unaccounted for.
These coins are considered property of the U.S. Mint and are illegal to be possessed. You can be arrested and fined if you are found in possession of one.
Note: If these coins were not within the borders of the U.S. ie: Mexico, Canada, and were privately traded with someone that you knew very very well, rumor has it that they bring around 100,000 in cold hard cash.
