My Father bought quite a few coins in Albequerque this past weekend. And of the one's he didn;t loose on his way home, I spotted some plane and simple doubling on the rev. He said he paid $45.00 for it.m I told him "I know someone" in the buisness. Doe's this boost his investment? And I changed the color a bit to show the next issue with this one! Because the 'Gold in the coin' reminded me that I have several LMC's that not only have several imbeded gold and silver scraps, but two that have Gold shot all through the coins! I've seen simular stuff from the 80's ,b but the lines of a dark-blackish color. Haven't scaled them yet but I've been dealing with alot of gold lately from the land owned by the previous owner of those
same LMC's!And, Die Crack ? Kinda cool but any value to concern with?

If you are talking about the left side of the shield, They all look like that as that is the normal design..

Other than that I can't see what you are trying to show us.

Thanks,
Bill

I really don't think that there are gold scraps embedded in this coin Joe, unless someone did this post mint somehow, for some reason. The mint, to the best of my knowledge, did not engage in the practice of embedding or shooting gold into silver coins.
As far as $45 being paid for this coin, I would say that your Dad made a very good deal for an 1884 half dollar with that degree of detail on the feathers; if this is indicative of the remainder of the coin.
