I never really got into keeping 82 small dates but decided
to put some aside as I find them. Been a while since I looked
at some bank rolls. Anyone know the mintages of the small date P zincs as well as the 82-D small date copper ?
Thanks

The Mint has never released a mintage breakdown for the seven 1982 types, other than total P and D mintages. I do know that the zinc Small Date is the least common and the attrition rate on all of the zinc varieties has been fairly high due to them rotting away.

Wow, seven types. No wonder no record on the breakdown.
The ones I have been finding as of late have been in pretty decent
shape. P or D rarer ? I'll assume the D copper is the scarcest of all then ?
Thanks

My price guide shows the 82P Cu & Zn with a slight premium above the others.

Thanks numismo and the others. Did not realize there was even a premium on them. One last question ? Is the D copper sm. date even
more scarce.

Not sure on the scarcity, how ever being a little crazy I have been keeping track of all the 82s I have found. Here is my break down.
Approximately 1.5 to 2 finds per roll
82 lg copper 1799 coins
82 lg zinc 1581
82 sm copper 161
82 sm zinc 446
82D lg copper 403
82D lg zinc 35
82D sm zinc 44
they didn't make any small date D coppers ( I still weigh each one though)

Bull

I read somewhere about the D copper sm. date existing.
Don't know of any pop. reports from any TPG on it though.
Fact or fiction ?
I only found one D sm. date zinc. so far.
