I recently got re-interested in numismatics. Just now, I'm searching my coin jar and what do I find.. A 1939 Nickel without a mint mark! Curious, I did a quick internet search, and realized that what I probably found is a 1939 Henning Counterfeit Nickel.
I'd post pics, but I don't own a macro lens. I've looked everywhere for the mint mark, and I'm certain the date says 1939. Not that I'm about to run out and sell it.. But how much is it worth?
All 1939p nickels have no mintmark, unless your nickel has a looped are on the reverse it is likely not countefiet. The only counterfit nickel that can be assertained by having no mintmark is the 1944 henning counterfiet.
