My Great Grand father on my mothers side was Secratary of the treasury under President Cleveland.

I cannot locate any Banknotes with his signature.
Any resources or info would be appreciated

I tried to find one at Heritage Auctions but came up empty. I did, however, find something that may be of interest to you

I believe it is because banknotes back then had the signatures of the Treasurer and the Register of the Treasure.

But I'm not 100% sure, so I would wait for the experts.

Billie: are you just trying to find his signature or does it have to be on a banknote. If the former, you should be able to track his signature down on a presidential appointment of Cleveland with Carlisle signing as Sec of Treasury. I think I may have one myself.
