I am curious as to what kind of metal is in Canadian cents large and small?I know nobody thinks these are worth anything, and nothing to get excited about, but My neighbor gave me another 1958 cent she found in her change.I didn't have that year,so YEA FOR ME!! I've been having fun putting this collection together.sn31.
Thank you so much.I'm fascinated with pennys,US and Canadian, they're my favorites.I'm sure I'll have more questions pertaining these, and I appreciate your help.sn31.
Canadian cents (large and small) were made of bronze (the alloy quoted by nds76) up until 1996. In 1997 the composition changed to copper-plated zinc, just like US cents have been since 1982.
