I always ask cashiers that I'm dealing with if they have any Ikes in their till. Most of the time I come up snake eyes, but a few months ago I got this one: 1971S Silver Clad Ike  Its got character!  |

Really Great pictures. I vividly remember the day I got my 1971 Brown Box Ikes and being completely blown away by the deep rich cameos. I was a kid and that was the first time I saw a real cameo proof

Death of a FEV....couldn't resist this "1970" IKE...ebay seller stated damaged obverse..previous owner tweaked a zero with a dremel tool over the last 1 in date...it looked like a FEV, and, it is, once examined..a hit mark on brow AND above 2nd L in dollar hid regular clues...with a round earth, I took a gamble..for about 3 bucks, I got a conversation piece...sad, without alterations and stain on reverse, this would have been a MS64-ish FEV....maybe Daniel Carr can convert this to a better looking 1970 fantasy coin for me(have you seen the prices on those?!---$300+)  |

I found 6 Ikes at work today.  3 Bicentennial coins with one being a Type 2. |

NICE RJP!  ...how do you feel PCGS did on grading? I see a LOT of over-graded IKE's on ebay, and, leery of their capabilities for grading now, and, I'm not alone in this opinion...all who have submitted IKES to the major TPG's recently, let's have an update on this..I still prefer anacs, but, you cannot do the collector's universe with them, I believe.. |

Am I "seeing" things again? I have 71-S BS IKES, all heavily MDD obverse, with VEDS reverse, and, heavily polished fields, mirror-like...anyway, this looks like a baseball player, catching a ball..NOT a crater(his legs)......BTW, the ONLY drugs I'm on are caffeine and sugar!Gotta have some fun, eh? This baseball theme was started with the 72-P T-II "Baseball Cap" marker, as seen in the Lulu Press IKE Book, Chapter 4, page 12.    |

I have just won it on ebay so I am waiting for the coin to get here. I hope it does look better the a 64+, But I think I am happy with it. |

Here's a few IKE finds from the last week..sorry for the crappy pic. 1---6 nice peg legs, including the rare 1977-D Flared, and both T-I & T-II 76-D's, although not as severe as some found in past. 2---1971-D FEV.with DDR....in great condition..in a bucket of mixed IKES.. 3---1971-S BS Faded Peg Leg, with DDR..a bit rough obverse 4---3 nicely toned IKES 5---1973-S Clad Proof, found in a bucket of circulated iKES 6---1971-P DDO..minor, washed out, but present. 7---1976-D-T-I..struck-through reverse 8---1976-D-T-I with numerous copper spots see this post: https://goccf.com/t/156162 |
