Checkout my posting...in hand, a contemporary counterfeit 1971-S BU IKE...1 of 2 known, from what I can muster up....will we see more on the market? I bought this(pics were decent, but, no weight stated in listing), hoping it was a peg leg FS-401....well, it IS..just a fake one..actually, I think the crooks molded a peg leg PROOf IKE for this poorly made forgery...put into a "generic" slab, and, with no weight listed, and somewhat blurry pics, these would sell like hotcakes on ebay! http://forum2.ikegroup.info/viewtop...?f=38&t=1946

This is a pic of the same Ike I posted last time, but I photographed it using an 18% gray card as the background. I think the true colors and appearance of the coin show much better now. What do you think?

Thanks, solo. I have a thread in the photography section concerning backgrounds. Tonight, I'm going to take a picture of my new setup and post it there. I think I may have found my ideal lighting/setup configuration.

I'm sure all the advanced IKE Collector's are aware of the "Nightcrawler"...how many in here own one of the 15 found to date? My PCGS PR69 DCAM Crawler is Vermont at the moment, getting a DIVA attribution.(not the coin in the first pic, just used one for laughs from my stock)

If the nightcrawler gets a CPG listing, wow...then, PCGS and NGC take it up..that would be sweet, for best price possible...very interesting...when does the next CPG come out?

What's this? Just one of your run-of-the-mill 1974-S Silvers. I'm still trying to figure out how to shoot coins.

Nice coin!..Gotta love the toning those 74's get....nice photo...1 light, or 2? I'd kill to be able to get a proof shot this good..with my 1 light, it's downright impossible...when I send my IKES into PCGS someday, I'll let THEM shoot the darn things, especially if for resale....my Nightcrawler, my 74-S Clad Proof Peg Leg, all my big-spread DDO's-DDR's, RPM's, 72-P T-2, FEV/DDO / DDR, all my toned IKES(talk about IMPOSSIBLE to shoot, and get the TRUE colors), and basic high-grade coins..all all awaitin, in my boxes...would even be neat to have my counterfeit shot, but, I don't think they will slab it, even "Genuine".

Here's the reverse. Both were shot with two side lamps plus a flash, shot with a Nikon DS5200 with a kit lens. I have a Macro on its way, will shoot this again with the Macro. These are among my first self-shot coin images. I haven't gotten the technique quite down yet.

A Small Variety Quiz Can anyone figure why these two seemingly uninteresting ungraded 1971 S 40% Silver Proof Ikes went for such a high auction price ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-S-EISE...047675.l2557(I know why, personally I think it is very cool) I bet IlikeIkes will know why immediately LOL
