Nice 71-S...speaking of the Nightcrawler...has anyone in here found one lately..in their stash, or, online...unsure of "official" NC count from the Ike Group.org site, but, last I heard, hovering around 20 found.
Good luck Hunting!
Calvin

OK, got the 71D today. It is a FEV. I was sharking for those as well as the night crawlers. This one the guy knew what it was, but was not asking huge money for it. He had just listed it and there were three other people viewing it when I was, so after a quick check of the pics, I snagged him. And here he is...

And I managed to get a pic showing my favorite diagnostic, the re-entry contrail. Just above the arrow.

Moon Line Die-Clash. I have added 7 to my collection in the last couple of days. Here is a pic of one (Grade A). I am beginnig to keep some data on what I find as I search through approximately 1800 Ikes. I will post some data later.

Last one for the day (maybe). These are from three different 1972D's but the peg legs (straight) look very similar. Notice the "broken leg" on the bottom left; Ike Group explains it as either planchet metal broken off a previous coin strike or some type of debris beoming stuck in the die.

I've been on the hunt for a 1973-S DDO FS-101 for a while now with no luck so far. However, this "minor variety" 1973-S proof Ike came up for auction on the bay last week. Although it is not part of the COMPLETE VARIETY registry set, I still wanted this one in my collection. There are also DDO minor varieties for 1971-S and 1972-S, which I also want for my collection. Anyway, I think this one will tide me over until I find the FS-101. This coin has some very faint, light blue toning and some milk spots in areas along the rim. You can't ever go wrong with adding another '73-S silver proof to an Ike collection.

Oh, and there were some rub marks on the front of the slab that were VERY distracting. I used SLAB-RENEW, and it worked perfectly! I wish it worked on NGC slabs, but it doesn't.

Nice aquisitions, all of you, and thanks for sharing...DARTH..be careful on 72 & 73-S PF DDO attributions/////2 reasons...a lot are just plain incorrect, and, many are series doubling, or, Master Die Doubling...If I were to spend bucks on those, I'd make darn sure someone like Brian V. either owns them, or, attributes them...way too easy to get fooled on those years, as so much of the IGWT notching is identical..the key is Die Markers and M/M placement..period.

Thanks for the info, ilikeikes. I will keep that in mind. I just upgraded my 1971-S/S (RPM - FS-501) Ike dollar from a 63 to a 65 for just $15.00 more than I paid for the 63. I am very happy with this purchase:

Apologies for not posting a specific single coin, but holy cow if they posted photos of all those Eisenhower's they're selling. Think I'd fall over!

Although not an actual Eisenhower dollar, I picked this up in Nashville as a new little project. I think its kind of neat because it only has slots for up to 1976.

Bought this cool 1971-D "TIGER CLAW" PCGS MS64, with DIVA Card...had one years ago, sold it and had "buyer's remorse", so, now I have a better grade keeper...the "claws" are theorized to have been caused by a run-away abrading tool that left gouges in the working die, and, when struck, the lines came out raised on IGWT...
