Here's my sole Ike. 1971D, AU53.

It has more of a brownish tone than the picture suggests.

Very nice!

Perhaps you should get him some friends. I can think of at least 31 candidates.

Personally, I prefer clad.. for now. This is probably because I can't afford much silver right now, so I have a (possibly forced) affinity for circulating coins.

That is like asking someone to pick their favourite child!

For the record, all Eisenhower dollars are clad. There are the normal Cu-Ni clad (pure copper core, 75% copper and 25% nickel cladding) and there are the 40% Silver Clad (79.1% copper and 20.9% silver core, 80% silver and 20% copper cladding).

I really like the silver BU Ikes, and the proof Ikes are just spectacular, whether they be silver or Cu-Ni. The UNC silver Ikes are neat because they literally are silver dollars, made just like the Peace and Morgan before it with the only difference being 40% silver content. But they also feel like real money too.

My favorite Ikes are the business strike Silver. Most, except the 1971s, come real nice and I think the silver content makes the design pop. That being said, I've seem some really nice Cu-Ni clad toners that are stunning!

I picked this one up for spot...before ANACS slabbing, which was an Insider Special, although they did not concur with the RPM, or is it shift doubling?

I think the MM is MD, but I am hardly an expert. Might warrant its own post in the V/E forum (unless you already have, but I could not find it).

Regardless, it is an Eisenhower dollar, so he is very nice!

Chapter 19 of the big IKE Book has specific die markers(naked eye visible) for the 71-S RPM..if you don't have the book, grab a copy...pays for itself in 1 week of pickin.
I don't see a shift, where the RPM should be...MDD, sorry 2 say.

Regardles, a NICE pick up oih8.

Here is my latest. I was cruising trying to snag a night crawler being sold straight up and came across this guy. Obviously not a night crawler, but I felt it had at least nice cameo, possibly DCAM so I grabbed it. Only issue is the darned spot on the back of his neck and a very slight ding you can see reflecting at the bottom of his neck. I think he could pull a 67, which would be the minimum I would want to slab one at.

I have another Ike on his way. A 71D...
