I don't remember a lot of coins when I was a kid, but I do remember spending the heck out of the 1976 dollars on candy all the time. My dad use to bring them home for allowance money. grrr

Looking though my Ike's this one I like the best.
Funny how the pic does not look as good as the coin does in hand.

This one was cut out of a group of blue packs I bought last year.

I wish I could find some of the nice type coins you all are finding.
I have looked through hundreds and not finding .. or not seeing them.

Dare I ask what a August release is?

Gold Rush,

The August release is a 1972 Type 2 Ike. There are two different varieties of them with different characteristics the other is the March Release is a much rarer variety being only a one die coin (Estimated Mintage 10,000) I have only been able to find two.
Here is an article explaining how to tell the difference.
