 There are some tiny specks and scratches on the holder. Apart from that, the coin is pristine. |

With MS and PF coins I only buy slabbed. There is just too much opportunity to be scammed by sellers who photoshop or doctor their pics to show luster or mirrored fields when in fact there are none.

Hello fellow Ike fans and thanks for posting! I didn't got through all 369 pages but 50 most recent were pretty inspiring and I thought I should get an Ike for my collection. Some time ago I made a bid at online auction for something called "50+ US Dollars coins". Pictures were shady and blurred but I saw some BIG coins. A lot of BIG coins  . Since I already got some lots and shipping should be free I made a bid. I ended up winning it for ~$45 - looks like a bargain in any case. In some weeks my mail arrived and inside I found something like this :  Totally there were more than 50 coins but some appeared to be Ukrainian "dollars" :). But I ended up with 34 Ikes to go through.  |

I have a plan to add some more Ike's to my hoard.
My LCS, has some more of the Blue Ike's in the envelopes,
like I recently purchased for $9.00 each.
He also offered $2.50 for some of my 40% halves.
So worst case it would cost me 4 halves in trade for each
blue Ike proof. I would prefer 3 halves per Ike, but we will see.
Would make the Ike's cheap, trading at face value for the Ike's.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Believe 3 40%er's, would be greater silver content than 1 Ike.
So 4 would equal even more for the LCS, but face value would be cheap, cheap.

One 40% Ike has more silver than two 40% half dollars, but not more than three. I would give three of my 40% half dollars for an OGP blue Ike all day long. I could probably be convinced to give up more than twelve of them for all four blue Ikes (1971 to 1974) in original packaging. Good luck with the negotiation! |

JBuck, Agreed, I have done the math, keeping in mind that seldom can I get spot price for my 40% halves. When I take up to 33% loss to sell 40% halves, giving up 1/8 or 12% in silver content is not so bad. Even better when I only have FV in the halves by CRH my Kennedy half dollars.
