referring to the 1804 quarter, dime, Half Dime or penny and primarily the 1799 large cent.

There is no 1804 Half Dime and the Dime and Quarter are real toughies with mintage of 6-8,000. The 1799 Large Cent is another multi-thousand dollar coin(it is easier to find a 1799 Draped Bust Dollar).

I am familiar, and do collect when I see them but my own 1790's coppers are really not all that great of shape as my budget is comparatively small when reaching so far back relative to the niche in the hobby.

Any specific questions you have regarding them or the 1799 in particular? We are happy to help if we can.

sorry for the misprint about the 1804 Half Dime. My typing hand was working faster than my brain. My interest in the early low mintage coins such as the 1793 Ameri chain cent, 1799 large cent, 1796, 1802, and 1804 dime and the 1796 and 1804 quarter is an attempt to determine how many of the minted coins survive. If one goes on the Heritage website you can get an updated accounting of the number of PCGS or NGC slabbed coins of each variety but that doesn't take into account the other expertizing organizations or the number of raw coins out there. If of low grade but being used as a filler these would not necessarily ever see a slab. The only way I can think of to get a feel as to how many of them are out there is to poll the general collecting public as to how many have them.

I didn't see half-cents mentioned. If it matters re your query, I have three 1804 half-cents.

Cheetah: thank you very much for your information. I had not included the Half Cent for 1804 because the reported mintage was over one million

y/w FunCity... Judging from your post, that's what I was thinking, but thought I'd mention just in case it was inadvertantly omitted.
