Who else, apart from me,is collecting the coins of the Hutt River Province Principality? I have always liked the coins of this secessionist state which is part of the British Commonwealth. If you think they are easy to find, let me assure you they are not.The H.R.P.P. banknotes are easy to find, however.I found my first H.R.P.P. coin when I was visiting a coin dealer in Hamilton.I gave him NZ$1 for a well-circulated 10c.,which is a bronze coin.

For other denominations such as the aluminium 5c.,& the brass 20c.,I ended up buying a 1978 set of Proof coins. There were only 500 pieces of each denomination that was struck in that year.

I have done some hunting with a few dealers...looks like they are relatively scarce coins.

I dropped into Hutt River Province a few years ago, I didn't realise they did their own coins, but I bought a heap of mint stamps.

Steve, the H.R.P.P. coins were first issued in 1976.The last coin they had was a gold $100 issued back in 2000 to commemorate 30 years of the H.R.P.P.'s Independence & 30 years of Prince Leonard's reign.

The HRPP$ is tied to the A$ at a ratio of 1:1.

You will be pleased to know that the H.R.P.P. even issued gold Sovereigns (1985 & 1986).

Here's a link that will interest you; https://www.huttriver.net .This is THE official website of the H.R.P.P.

If you are looking for the H.R.P.P.'s coins in Krause, then you are looking in the wrong book. What you need is Krause's Unusual World Coins, which you can buy from Amazon here; https://www.amazon.com .The postage
is really cheap,as your order is shipped from a warehouse in Germany.

"Well-circulated"? How did that happen? [:p]

I thought HRP coins were NCLT only, and that the notes were the only form of circulating HRP currency.

Sap,it was used as coin of the realm in the H.R.P.P.,
as it was not issued in Proof.

A coin of the realm wouldn't circulate much. When I visited there a few years ago, there was a couple of buildings and about as many people.

Steve,I think the permanent population of the H.R.P.P. is around 37,mainly Prince Leonard & his family, plus some supporters as well. The H.R.P.P. has done well through the tourist trade.A lot of tourists
go there because they have heard about the H.R.P.P.'s
stamp issues,& they want to post their mail from the H.R.P.P.'s post office.
