I know that Sir Gary will be happy to hear the Pony Express Rider just dropped off the Colorado Quarters from the U.S. Mint this morning. After examination, I will have to say they look better than I had expected them to look. Not a great deal of imagination on someone's part, but very presentable for that part of the country. Noticed one more thing about them, and you may want to check this out for yourselves; a $10 stack of these quarters is almost one quarter greater than the previous quarters. Must be because of the design and the need to increase the pressure on the presses. The rims are ever-so-much greater than the normal quarter.
All in all, a very nice quarter.

Side Note:
The shipping date on the package was one day prior to the release date of the 14th in Denver. Does this mean that these are prior first day strike coins?
Rest in Peace

Old Dan:

Very interesting.

I also compared stacks, and there is a difference.

By the way, if you want one of my "first day of issue" quarters, just e-mail your mailing address, and I'll send you one.

Hi I'm having truoble sending you a money order the place I'm doing it keeps asking why I am sending it and he won't fill it out unless I tell him. Should I go to a different place?

Buffaloboy just do what I did. Place your bill in a folded piece of writing paper and mail it or use a security envelope.

Thank you for the offer Sir Gary, but I now have more Colorado Quarters than any normal person actually need. In fact, if you run short, let me know and I'll ship you some.
Have a good one old buddy!
Rest in Peace

Buffaloboy:

Just stick a dollar, or 50 cents, in an envelope and mail it. Don't bother with a money order. It's not worth the fee you would pay.

Old Dan:

Okay, just thought I'd offer. When the Wyoming quarter is launched, I'll possibly pester you for one.

Received more State Quarters and nickels from Gary, many thanks for obtaining them for me Gary. These have filled the holes in my collection.

Also received a surprise coin from him. Have looked up the details in the US Mint site. Thanks again for the "Golden Dollar" Gary.
