i haven't found much lately - worthy of posting. I recently started a bank box of cents. in the 5th roll, I found two wheat cents, 41P, and 57P, and this 72P. I am fairly certaini it is the 1DO-003, as on coppercoins site. most of the die markers are there. particularly the diagonal gouges through the "G" of GOD. the die marker on the reverse is not there. I am of the impression that if all of the die markers are not present, that it can still be the correct identification, but a different dies state. if that is correct, then this IS the 1DO-003.

dbrablec, it appears thru your pics that is in fact 003. I believe I see the die marker running thru the "G" and it also appears to be more of an LDS (late die state) but would like to see pics of the whole coin. I also have examples of 1972 DDOs that are missing markers. When you can find one as distinctive as that marker, though, you can be pretty sure. It would be nice if you could find one other marker, however, just in case you have found a new one. Odds are not but dumber things have happened.

thanks. actually the only missing maarkers on the obverse are the clash below the "B" in liberty, and the scratches near the "1" of the date. everything else is there. the gauges are there below pluribus - also.
