Personally, I have moved to Dansco yrs ago and have been reasonably happy. My initial problem was with the plastic covers. Yes they can be replaced, but if you are upgrading coins or moving the sliding cover for any reason, they start to scratch/rub and diminish the ability to look thru them. The one that got me, though, was looking at coins I have bought at auction in Whitman folders and seeing the toning to corrosion developing on the edge of the coins. Yes, storage and time have taken their toll and maybe you can do things to abate this. However, I mentioned this to a darn good collector I know and he stated that he thinks the problem is that the cardboard holder works as a wick pulling moister out of the air and holding it at the point where condensation would develop, the area of temp change. You got it, the coin works as a heat sink (hope that is spelled correctly). If this is a fact, Only a completely dry environment will work. I am going the way BadThad has. Airtites then placed in a 2x2 album.
