I have a coin that looks just like a Liberty V nickel. At least the front looks like it. But when you get to the back it says one cent instead of the V in the Liberty nickel. Please help. Its not in the best condition, so a year is not visible. I will appreciate any information on this coin. Thank you once again.

can you supply a picture? mabe its some type of Mule coin or something which would be a major find. If you dont know what a Mule coin is it is a coin that at the mint they used the obverse of one demonination with the reverse of another demonination and they go for BIG bucks for example a sack/quarter sold for around $90,000.00 recently in auction which isn't bad for a coin someone got for a dollar

Like I said before it is not in the best condition. What is shown here is the back to it. The front looks exactly like a Liberty V nickel.
Thanks for your help

There is no visible date on this coin. If it helps, she is facing the left side.
I didn't know that trying to figure out what coin one has is very frustrating.
That you all for your help.

The coin has been Identified,, but different dates different values and such !!

This looks like a metal detector find ? and without a date I'm afraid the coin has not got much value.

if graded it would more than likey be a PO-1 meaning that it can be identified as a Liberty Head Large cent but thats about it .

The liberty head large cent is also called the matron head (1816-1836), Matron head modified (1837-1839) and Braided hair (1839-1857). Now although they look similiar to the Liberty head nickel (1883-1912) the designer and the design are different.
