Found this really cool pamphlet (book?) on the Bank of Iceland website. Okay, a bunch of it is in Icelandic (or is it Danish?), but a lot is in English and a lot is understandable either way. Really pretty cool.

By the way, I've been working on an Iceland set and getting killed on ebay. I have a lot of coins from Iceland, but I'm missing some "common" coins. These coins, which my Krause lists at 20c to $2 in Unc are costing me more than $3 each when postage is figured in. Gotta put up a wish list on CCF soon!

That one is looking really cool! Unfortunately I don't have so many Icelandic coins, so I don't have so much use of it, but if you need some translation I could give it a shot! (NOTE: I'm not a pro in Icelandic! (and yes, it's Icelandic, not Danish (that would be much easier for me though!))

I've seen this before--the early currency is very interesting!
FYI, Google Translate does Icelandic now--with varying success.
