I have a friend in the coin club who has several attractive medals but doesn't have a clue about the price. Neither do I, but I'd like to buy a couple if I had a reference guide. She mentioned having 2 out of a set of 3 in different metals. Look like British to me. Any help out there?

Well...I don't know the answer to your question. However, I have a guide book of tokens and medals and find it useful.

CoinArchives used to be good for getting prices for scarcer medals, but access tot heir database now costs $600 a year. If it's common medal, try an ebay completed items search. Other than that, you'll probably need to look it up in the catalogue. If they were Australian medals, I could help you out there, but I don;t have the British medal book.

Because finding "true prices" for foreign medals needs specialist reference material, they're usually just tossed into a dealer's "too hard basket" and sold for whatever the dealer can get for them.
