I'm not talking about the 1992 quarters. I mean the 2 that came out in 2005: Saskatchewan and Alberta. When are the next batch supposed to come out? They seem like odd stand-outs.

They are not odd-standouts.

2005 is the 100th year anniversary of admission of Saskatchewan and Alberta as Canadian provinces.

Hmm, I knew that, but didn't think that hard. Thanks for clearing that up. Then perhaps a coin should be made to commemorate the War of 1812 in two years time.

As 1945V pointed out, Those coins were issued to commemorate their 100th anniversary. They both became Canadian provinces in 1905.

The provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan were created from the North-West Territories.
