With this acquisition, the dollar section of My Dansco 7070 is completed. Once again I asked the seller to give me the bottom line. This may be a good approach, because I picked up this AU for $450.00. The coin had been listed with a "buy it now" price of 800 dollars, or 500 dollars to open. There's a bit of rub on Liberty's left leg and elbow, but at the price, I am happy. I was able to fill all 6 slots in the 7070 with pretty nice coins....for just over a thousand dollars.

1847 No Motto.........AU
1872 with Motto.......AU
1877-S Trade dollar...AU
1883 CC Morgan.....MS-64
1923 Peace dollar..MS 64
1971-S Ike....BU from Blue pack

This is probably the weakest of the 3 early dates. The 1847 is a solid 58. This one's nice, but the strike is a bit weak, and there's the scuffing.

Very nice details, though it looks cleaned(most of them are). Are you certain it is authentic? Buying these coins raw on ebay is like russian roulette; though you've had great success so far. :-)

I got this from the same seller who sold me this superb 1843 seated half. I'm confident that it's real. The 1871 has been cleaned, but not especially harshly. It may surprise us when it arrives. This half looked way better than the seller's pictures.

Very nice coin, from what I can tell from the pictures I'd grade it at AU-53 and cleaned.

That looks like the kind of stuff Randall Holder offers. He hypes grades a bit, and asks big prices, but he deals and Oh Boy! the coins are nice.

Here's the picture I bought the 1843 half from....

Knowing this guy's photography a bit....makes me think that the Seated dollar will be nicer than his picture as well.

I've never bought from Heritage, though I did buy an NGC 1901 Liberty nickel in MS-61 for 30 dollars once. I've done well with ebay, and while the type set I've assembled wouldn't please everybody...I'm happy with it, especially as it relates to the dollars spent.
