Hi, found this in some change the other day. Can't find any trace of a MM, even under magnification. Grease-filled die? There are a few contact marks in the area, but they are consistent with marks on other areas of the coin. Is this a common occurrence? Thanks!

Actually, the Mint mark was simply and for the most part obliterated by circulation wear. The surface of the coin indicates that it was probably used in slot machines. You can still see the slight outline and detail of the P if you look closely. It is to the right of the bow in Washington's hair.

Welcome:-)

Thanks,
Bill
