cwb1877 Pillar of the Community United States 1659 Posts	Posted 03/27/2010 02:12 am Oh how I do love copper! This is my first large cent. I immediately fell in love! It's graded by PCGS. The haziness on the reverse is on the slab. The dark lines on the obverse are just shadows from the scratches on the slab. The rotated die is pretty cool too! What do you think for grade? southerngent Valued Member United States 469 Posts	Posted 03/27/2010 08:52 am It looks like an AU 58 with light rubs on the hair above the ear, top of head, hair at back of neck and bun but it might just be the way the picture was taken. echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 03/27/2010 1:41 pm Very nice coin. There is some slight wear in the hair and on the stars around the edge. I would grade this coin at AU-55, but there might be enought luster to slide it to AU-58. Report this Post to the Staff
coinguybrian Rest in Peace United States 5375 Posts	Posted 03/27/2010 1:53 pm The coin, if unc, appears to have virtually no chatter. I am assuming the little lines on the obverse are reflections. If that is so, MS-64 RB. If not, MS-63, maybe 62 RB. I see no wear on the reverse, but I can see what ezschiento is talking about, so if it isn't just the pictures, then AU-58 RB. But I would definitely go with 58 not 55, the wear is minimal, coin is attractive, not many abrasions at all = all the hallmarks of a 'slider' 58 coin rather than a lower grade.
