I have yet to see a nickel, dime or quarter from last year in circulation. Whats up with that? Am I going to need to buy these for my "Late model" collections?

You haven't seen any of the quarters? That is amazing. They are everywhere here and have been for months.

I've found a few of the 2009 nickels while roll searching

Here in Northeast Ohio I've only found one 2009 quarter, a Northern Marianas Islands, in circulation. I have yet to see a 2009 dime or nickel.

I've found more 2009 quarters than 2008 quarters in circulation... In fact the ratio is around 40:1

The 2009 coins had incredibly low mintages. I did remember finding a 2009 dime in my cash drawer last summer while working as a cashier. I knew that rolls of them were selling for $50+ on ebay at the time, so I asked the manager if we had any rolls of them. She said we didn't.

I have only found 3 of the 4 cent types, the half dollar, and a DC quarter from 2009. Maybe a pres dollar, but those are for spending. Nothing else.

The only problem, if you are a purist, is that the mint set coins (since 2005) are specially made satin finish coins.

They are not the same as business strikes, they are as distinct as a proof. That is, there are three types of coins minted: proof, satin finish, and business strike.

Again, it depends on how you see them. Some collect all both satin finish and business strikes as distinct types, others do not differentiate them.

It just seems you would see some in circulation. True the mintages are low but not terribly low, like a quarter billion for dimes and nickels, sound about right?

Plenty of quarters in NJ, but only 1 nickel and no dimes. Pennies are few and far between but the LP1's and LP2's are more common than wheaties now.

The coins not common here in NE. Kansas are the 2009 Nickels and Dimes.....I have not seen ONE at all from circulation or roll hunting. The LP4 Lincoln Cent and of course the 2010 Shield Cent are also a "no-show" here as of yet. And the Native Dollars are non-existent as well.

I might remind those in this thread who haven't thought about it yet....
If they do some really low mintages of the Parks Quarters.....these ARE REALLY GOING TO BE HARD TO FIND..... (You won't be able to get them in BU rolls from your bank....that was ONLY the State qtr. program....NOT this one. And banks won't be able to order them for you either.....so.....it could have been difficult WITHOUT a low mintage !
But who wants to pay the premium from the Mint to get the P&D rolls ?
That's a lot of mony to pay several times a year for an 11 year program (at least 11 years anyway). I'm really tempted to do it.....but then you have to "bust" open those rolls that you've paid a premium for too ....for just ONE quarter !....That would just kill me ! I don't see myself getting them like that from the Mint....but again.....I sure am tempted !
What to do.....What to do.......hummmm.

I'm in Canada and I've only found a single 2009 Lincoln Cent. I feel yer pain, sorta. I had to buy the 2009 territories as singles. I'll wager casinos will have the new park quarters, don't ya worry..

Actually all four casino's around here have "modernized", now use "paper receipts".....no coins....then you take your "receipt" over to a machine or a teller to get your money.

I get P mint here.

With my proximity to Denver..(500 some odd miles away I think)...I get all "D" mints here in Northeast Kansas.

I'd always be open to some "P for D" mint tradin' ! ...
But, we'll see what we're "actually" able to get our hands on though ! ....
If the mintages are low......I may not see ANY D's EVEN around here for a long time.....if ever ! ....
(Or when and if I do....they could be in pretty bad shape !)
