I appreciate the compliment for sure. Too bad that thing was wiped on both sides. Makes me wanna cry. I can't remember seeing a better strike.

Wow. How hard does someone have to wipe to ruin a coin like that? Or is that with a tool?

Look at the full shield on that thing.

My bet...is that the luckiest metal detectorist on the face of the earth couldn't wait until he got home to wipe the dirt from the coin. I've witnessed such atrocities...but never on a coin like this one. I NEVER wipe a silver coin that I've recovered. If I find something that cool. The hunt's over and I'm seeking running water.

Looks like someone who didn't know what they were doing, maybe a pawn shop employee or something, decided to take it and run it over their pants leg to clean it up.

Yikes. OK, I've been away from this site for several months, and this pic is what I come back to? Beautiful pic, by the way...horrid subject matter.

The FH is more common in the type 1, but by no means are all type ones full head specimens. In order to be classified a FH, the 3 leaves and the ear hole must be present. It doesn't take much in the way of strike weakness to lose those details.

There were just 4 blemishes on this coin, all on the reverse. I don't see a single distracting mark on the obverse. That adds insult to injury.
