My 3 pound coffee can was getting full of '82 LMC's so I decided it was time for sorting using my scale. When I was finished sorting, I had 2550 copper (nice round number), plus 54 woodies (some really strong, some very weak), 154 what I would call AU (nice shine), and about 4 pounds of zincolns.
I did notice that all the woodies were copper, and none were zincolns. Also, I do not notice the "woodie" patterns on back of the coin, but only on the front. Is this normal?

I dont really know and it's hard to say, "anything's possible." However, I think the effect typically appears on both sides of the coin...it does on mine. If you could post some pictures of the fronts and backs of the coins that have the effect on one side we might be able to determine if it's natural or not.
