have absolutely NO idea of what kind these coins are, where they come from and what they are worth...if anything.

Both coins are from Iran, the first one is a 5 Rials Copper-nickel KM# 1175a, dated SH1345 (1965) and the second one is 10 Rials Copper-nickel KM# 1178, dated also SH 1345 (1965).

No not at all, everything you need to know is listed in the Krause catalog.

The language is Persian though they use Arabic script.
