Seriously, how do I label this coin? I know it's at least MAD, but what do you call the anomaly?

It looks like circulation damage possibly. I thought I saw a shadow of the bottom of the L. Maybe the paper hook on the shotgun roller rubbed it off or something ?

After it was explained to me hos this happens, I did some research and nearly every penny minted that has damage within that circle of contact area is likely to be a product of damage rather than mint error and can even look polished to perfection by a burr on the hook even. Unless of course, several were found.

Hmmm. I wasn't thinking it was a mint error. I thought maybe the misaligned die may have contributed. And I didn't see any abrasion scratches from polishing the die. Maybe it is just ripped off, but it's ripped fairly clean!
