is on it's way! WOOHOO! IMO this is the toughest date. TDCall brought that up, and I have to agree with him. There are usually only several on ebay at any given time, usually with high BIN prices.

I was tempted to bid on that today just to mess with you - but I left it alone, as I'm focused on a couple others right now.
Congrats - I think the ending price for both of the ones that ended today was pretty good considering condition. Both under $150.

Quote: I was tempted to bid on that today just to mess with you better be careful....you might just outbid me. Yeah, even though the other one had more detail; this one has way more eye appeal imo.

Gorgeous coin, I stumbled across that one. Nice eye appeal and I would have to say F-12. Congrats on the set!

Excuse my ignorance but I am just wondering what the date of this coin is and how you can tell? Cheers Bryan

bryan10au, The Standing Liberty quarter series was issued from 1916 to 1930. In that date range, a 9 appears as the last digit of the date only twice, being 1919 and 1929. Beginning in 1925, the Mint recessed the date to address the issue of the date wearing off so quickly. The subject coin does not have a recessed date, so this rules out the possibility of it being a 1929-D. Therefore, the only possibility on this coin is a 1919-D. The D mintmark is just to the right of the bottom star at about 7:00 on the obverse. Congrats on the pickup Johnny! This is a tough series!

Crazy that you finished this set in like 8 days. Well, a little longer than that - but dang quick anyway.

You had one of those too, didn't you Moe? I remember when you were completing your type set. Quote: Crazy that you finished this set in like 8 days. Well, a little longer than that - but dang quick anyway. Yeah, I guess I got a little obsessive. I still havent completed my 7070 after 2 years, so I'm jumping around a bit. Quote: LOL - so Johnny - which series/set is next? Good question. I need to complete my type set, I need a 16-d merc dime(used to have one but I sold it), I may also work on my Walking Liberty half set as I'm currently missing most of the keys.

I'd think the Walker set might be easier than the SLQ set was.

Yeah, the slq set is the toughest 20th century only set imo, even with such a small run. Morgan dollars and Barber quarters are tougher, but they merge into the late 19th century.
