The surface looks too grainy to get a clean bill of health - just my opinion.

Thanks Rob. I do agree that it could be but these babies were 100% copper and the patina is important to keep it real.

no arguments there - but there are problem free ones out there. Although these are in the minority, I hold out for them when I choose to purchase a given date.

Fair question and fair thread, though.

In my opinion, it didn't sell for two reasons: First, it's a bodybag coin for the surface porosity from any TPG - they'd call it Environmental Damage. This is likely a dug coin. Second, the auction representation implies that it *would* grade, casting a little doubt on your veracity as a seller.

We know better here, of course, but think about all the auctions we've posted and laughed at for their ridiculous claims. Not that this is in that category, but I felt a little bit of that about the auction, on a lesser scale. The fact that you have two of them listed, using the exact same photos (note the tiny tick in front of the nose), doesn't help.
