They may be referring to "Clashed Dies". When a planchet doesn't make it into the coining chamber the dies will clash against each other.

I wonder if they're talking about a multiple-issue clash, like the Flying Eagles struck over Seated Half clashes.

I think they are talking about date changes on the same die like the 42 over 41 merc.

according to all that is holy in coin minting the 41 die should not have even existed for this to happen.

It seemed like awful strange verbiage from Fred Weinberg, this is why I asked the question.

Class III Design Hub Doubling, same as the 1942/1 Mercs and other 20th century "overdates". A die was impressed on a small date hub first, annealed(heated to soften the die steel), and then impressed a second time with a large date hub. "One die was impressed over another die" should be corrected to "one die impressed over two different hubs". Something tells me that Fred does not do his own ebay listings because I have a hard time believing he would make such an egregious description error

Also interesting that he calls it "double die" instead of "doubled die".

OK so it isn't one die impressed over another, it's one HUB impressed over another one. Makes a big difference. Sloppy Fred, sloppy.
