just picked up a nice type coin on ebay for $17.50 delivered
paid a little more than I wanted, but this coin really pops!
will send pics when I receive it in the mail

Hope these pics do this coin justice....MS-65 details...damaged
Net MS-63 with plenty of luster!!

I basically say that you can't go wrong with filling ANY hole for $17.50, if the coin looks nice! I find myself blowing more than I wanted to to get a really eye popping coin a lot of the time too...

sorry the pics are not bigger...the damage is a nick in the base rim on the reverse,a facial scratch and the top star nicked
With such high mint luster, it was easy to overlook the minor flaws...it looks great in my type set!

Frankly the ebay pictures are worthless as far as determining the condition of that coin. I hope you aren't unpleasantly surprised when it arrives.

Having collected coins for 50+ years, that die break on jprine's nickel is THE strongest I've seen on an 1883. Very late die state, that!

jprine - those die cracks alone make the coin worth buying? Has anyone ever thought about putting together a set based on die crack progressions? I may be waaaay behind the curve here, but it would be pretty interesting...
